EATING DISORDER RECOVERY SUPPORT GROUP

Nourishment Works is excited to offer a Recovery Support Group! This group is for anybody and everybody struggling with an eating disorder or disordered eating and looking for a recovery focused community with the exception of it being 18+. The following is additional information to help you decide if this group is a good fit.

We know the importance of community when navigating recovery, and are offering this group as a safe space for those seeking peer support throughout their journey. Wherever you may be in your recovery process, this group serves as a space to connect with others in recovery as we practice giving and receiving support. This group will be held virtually, and will be using Zoom tools to keep the group interactive and enjoyable.

Our first group session is full of activities to get the group connected and build safety. In a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, we will have space for checking in as we begin and end each group. The first few group topics will be facilitator lead, with the remaining group topics to be determined by the group itself to ensure meaningful discussion.

Facilitator lead topics will serve as the foundation for this group's activities and discussions. Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • What recovery means to you

  • Critical self talk and self compassion

  • Recovery tool sharing

  • Body image resilience

In addition to exploring these topics, the group will include group building activities. This is a closed group with the same group members weekly to help foster trust and connection. The group is 8 weeks in length. The out of pocket cost is $60 per group session. BCBS PPO, Blue Choice PPO, United Healthcare & Medicare plans accepted. The facilitator of this group is Camille a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist specializing in eating disorder recovery and body image concerns and Natasha a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and masters in counseling intern from UChicago.
