What can I expect from my first appointment?

Our clinicians provide a safe, therapeutic, and confidential environment while gathering information about your presenting issue or reasons for beginning work with us. This will be a detailed visit to determine a plan of care to best meet your needs. Often this includes a conversation about your condition, health history, and goals.

How frequent are visits?

We have a very individualized approach as we work with each client regarding their specific needs. Typically, visits occur once per week. The client and clinician may decide to increase or decrease the frequency of visits depending on progress and need. This approach provides an opportunity to work with you during various eating situations throughout the year such as vacations and holidays. Some clients need more intensive follow-up than others, therefore the frequency of visits varies from client to client.

Where are you located? Is there parking?

We are located at 3921 N. Lincoln Ave. Chicago, IL 60613. There is meter parking on Lincoln Avenue. There is street parking on various streets surrounding our building, please be aware of all zones, parking signs, and street cleaning notices in these areas. Visit ParkChicago.com to learn the most up to date parking information.

Is your office accessible?

Do you offer video or phone sessions?

Yes, we continue to offer both in person and telehealth sessions through HIPAA-compliant video and/or phone sessions to our clients.

Can I use my insurance?

Yes, we are in-network providers with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Blue Choice PPO, Medicare, and United Healthcare. If one of these is your insurance, we will submit the necessary paperwork for payment. We honor the contracted rate per session depending on the plan. Any client costs, such as a co-payment, co-insurance, or deductibles are the client's responsibility and will be due at the time of service.

A good faith estimate of anticipated charges is available for clients who self-pay.

Which states do your dietitians work with?

All Registered Dietitians on staff are able to see clients within Green, Yellow, or Gray States. alt text

Laura is additionally licensed in the state of Missouri.

Do you have a sliding scale?

Yes, we have a limited number of spots reserved for those who feel they'd like to begin working with one of our clinicians, but the cost would make it inaccessible. Typically these are reserved for those who don’t have the same access to resources due to structural inequality, whether that’s income level or those with marginalized identities. Please email info@nourishmentworks.com for additional information regarding our sliding scale policy and procedure.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, please provide us with at least 48 hours notice, or you will be charged the full fee for the session. Insurance cannot be charged for this fee.

How do I cancel or reschedule an appointment?

To cancel or reschedule an appointment, you can email info@nourishmentworks.com, call us at 312-380-5344, or reach out to your clinician directly (clinician's email is their first name @nourishmentworks.com).

What if I want to lose weight?

Most folks find their way to us knowing that we work within the Health At Every Size® framework. We understand that many come in hoping that weight loss will be the result of our work together, and we don’t expect you to leave that part of you at the door. Your hope makes sense, given the way that bodies are treated and that we’ve been indoctrinated into diet culture.

We are truly invested in your healing and in you having a compassionate partnership with your body. We are invested in you finding nourishment with food and within your community. We are invested in all of us healing from weight stigma.

Although we don’t know how your body will respond as we work together, we do know that we work from a place of trusting the wisdom of your body to help you feel your best.
